A 38-year-old woman was arrested and a boy, who is around five years old, was rescued on Wednesday morning as police continued investigations into the Lady Hardinge Hospital kidnapping case.
On Tuesday, the special cell had rescued the four-year-old boy who had been kidnapped from Lady Hardinge within seven hours and arrested Sunita who was going to sell the child for Rs 1 lakh.
Police identified the woman arrested on Wednesday as Anita who used to live in central Delhi's Nabi Karim with Sunita. The identity of the child is yet to be ascertained. The traffickers have told police that they had kidnapped him two years ago from RML Hospital.
The arrested woman has been identified as Anita (38), from Nabi Karim in central Delhi. The cell had arrested Sunita (35), who worked as a guard at a cinema theater in Paharagnaj and recovered a four-year-old child within seven hours of his abduction from the hospital.
The identity of second boy, who is around five-years-old, is yet to be ascertained yet. The traffickers have told police that they had kidnapped him two years ago from RML Hospital in central Delhi.
Special CP, special cell, S N Srivastava said all police stations in Central and New Delhi districts have been told to go through the missing children reports lodged in the last two years to find out the identity of the child's parents. "It's a mammoth task but a systematic investigation is being conducted in this regard and we are hopeful of uniting the child with his family as soon as possible," Srivastava said.
